America, a country that I love to call my birthplace and a place that has been an epicenter of innovation for centuries, is falling behind other countries, like Australia, Hong Kong, and Japan, in terms of the customer service provided to their buyers before each sale. If American sale companies think they can bring in new 21st century buyers using 20th century means of promoting consignments, while auction houses abroad provide eye-candy and interaction to bring in new buyers, the domestic auction houses are going to learn the hard way that the next generation has 21st century expectations for browsing for their horses. The next generation of horsemen has bought many goods online through Amazon.com, eBay, and Alibaba, where a picture is worth a thousand words. The customer doesn't have to go to a store to take that picture or go to the manufacturer's website to see the picture. The picture(s) and/or video is provided on the listing for that item and provided for free to the customer by the seller.
Given that other countries have already taken the lead and provided buyers with pictures or videos of the horses they're selling, there is no reason why the same cannot be done in America, other than a collective unwillingness to make it happen on the part of the auction houses.
Thoroughbred Catalog is ready to host ANY auction house's sale, and any consignor's consignment. Thoroughbred Catalog is built upon scalable, enterprise-grade cloud resources that can be throttled with the click of the mouse as needed.
When a picture is worth a thousand words and a video worth even more, why do auction-goers at American auction houses settle for anything less?
