What Taylor Made Sales Agency's eCatalog REALLY Does

Please be fearful of any website that asks for your e-mail address, like http://tmsaecatalog.com, that is http only, and does not secure your information using https. For this reason, I will not be creating a hyperlink to the website in this article. When I attempted to visit the TMSA eCatalog using HTTPS, I was shown a nice little 404 - Page Not Found error. Taylor Made's eCatalog not only mines e-mail addresses and first and last names in a non-secure fashion, it uses them to snoop out the potential buyers and set reserves based on the individuals looking at the horse. Based on the following screenshot from the TMSA November 2016 website (http://tmnovember16.com), one can deduce that Taylor Made most likely uses your email address, first name, and last name, and the horses that you frequently visit or save as a favorite (on a non-secure http connection) to determine the financial tolerances of those interested in a particular horse and set a high reserve that targets one or two specific buyers, rigging the market in favor of the seller. The use of the user's information is not disclosed anywhere on the eCatalog website or the Taylor Made Sales website, http://www.taylormadeadvantage.com.

(Just for the record, there is nothing "cutting-edge" about logging user activity. Information systems of all kinds have been doing so for literally decades.)

Conveniently, the Privacy Policy link at the bottom of the website http://www.taylormadeadvantage.com goes nowhere except back to the top of the homepage.

Thoroughbred Catalog will not give any consignor your e-mail address. Thoroughbred Catalog also uses the HTTPS protocol with encryption certificates to ensure the traffic going between your browser and Thoroughbred Catalog is secure.

Privacy bells and whistles should be blaring in your head about now. Before you shop for your next Thoroughbred acquisition on the eCatalog, make sure that you are secure. Developed by a CompTIA Security+ certified developer, not only does Thoroughbred Catalog place a very high priority on the protection of your personal information, Thoroughbred Catalog offers more to the buyer. eCatalog only offers a single photo and video for each horse. Thoroughbred Catalog consignors can post as many photos and videos as they wish for each horse, for one low price.

Why look for your next Thoroughbred anywhere else?
